Doing it Yourself With a Little Help

Building a house is perhaps one of the coolest things you will do in your life. When it comes to the electrical portion, most people will want to bring in a professional to do that portion of the work. After all, it is a big job, and there are a lot tricks to the trade, and a good electrician can do a great job of designing a beautiful lighting plan and comfortable electrical system.
With a little planning, beatiful things can happen!
But you are different. You want to forgo that pesky electrician, and do it all yourself. “If there is going to be an electrical fire, I want it to be my electrical fire!” Actually, if done correctly, there is no reason for such a risk. Following codes, using the right material, and using proper wiring methods should result in a safe electrical installation. And you can do it, and I am here to help you do.

What this section of the blog will do is walk you through the process of how to do your own electrical work. Everything from layout, to design, to make up, to trimming it all out, repair, innovative ideas, sound systems, low-voltage, and much more. I will also go beyond the building process to do maintenance, remodel, and other electrical issues.

Keep tuned for coming articles. As articles are posted, I will also add them in the sidebar under "Ask The Electrician" so that topics can be easily referenced. If something is not clear, please post a question in the comment box. Or, if you have a specific issue you are dealing with, or a project that you want help with, post the question, and we’ll see how we can get answers to your situation.
Happy wiring.
