Cake Stand

I have always liked the look of a cake stand. They have such a presence and beauty all their own that it is not uncommon to see the stand left on display all by itself. But then you put a cake on a it and the stand shines in a whole new way as it partners itself with the cake.

This cake stand is glazed with an Egg Shell Wash. The finish is the beautiful matte texture that feels so soft to the touch.

This cake stand has a top plate of  width of 8-3/4", and has a height of 3". The base is spreads out to 3-3/4" wide.

I hand made this on the potter's wheel in two pieces. The base was attached to the top during the glazing process.
